Conservation

For Conservation Week Jason, Jacob Miles and Liam from the Hawera Christian School visited the Nowell's Lakes Walkway with our Garden Tutor Doug.  We planted Swan Plant seedlings that we hope will grow to attract the Monach Butterfly.  We also got to check out the riparian planting that the Walkway passes through and found out how this planting helps the waterways. We also went looking for and catching bugs that live there and found out just how important they are in looking after our environment.

Checking for freshwater crayfish in the stream

Seeing who's home in the "Bug Wall'
